Best Practice in Marketing & BD - results of the FTD Survey

Law firms will increase their BD staff by 25 percent in 2008. 85 percent of them consider BD "extremely important" to their future business. Two findings of the annual FTD survey that was presented in Frankfurt by Ursula Triller, Regional Director of PM Forum Germany.

The former journalist and today PR specialist is initiator of the most comprehensive study on marketing in law firms, the ANWALTSMONITOR.
200 law firms were interviewed within December and January. The collected data provides a valid benchmark for marketing budgets and recruiting.

Ursula pointed out what kind of BD and marketing tools law firms use today and will use in 2008. She gave data on time and money spent now and in the future to build up a brand and create new business.

Besides Richard Chaplin, founder and executive director of the PM Forum, gave insights into the British market. There Business Development has developed from nice to have to an absolute must have. BD- and client programs take up to 75 percent of marketing time and money spent Richard told.
